Kara Thompson is an attorney in our DHHS department, where she is dedicated to providing clients with thoughtful, strategic, and results-oriented legal representation. She brings a strong academic foundation and a passion for client advocacy to her practice.
Kara earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law in May 2025. During her time at MSU Law, she honed her skills in legal research, writing, and client-centered advocacy. She was also a part of MSU’s Trial Practice Institute, a rigorous two-year program focused on developing advanced litigation and courtroom skills. Through this experience, Kara gained valuable, hands-on training in trial preparation, advocacy, and evidence presentation. She received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science, summa cum laude, from Central Michigan University in May 2022.
Known for her professionalism, diligence, and approachable demeanor, Kara strives to build lasting relationships with clients through clear communication and a genuine commitment to their goals.
Benjamin J. Hall has proudly served both his community and country. He spent 5 years in the Marine Corps, including a tour in Iraq, and later worked nearly 10 years in law enforcement while attending law school. Ben has also been featured in local and national media, sharing insights on Michigan’s child protective services and offering a veteran’s perspective on 9/11.
